In the meeting with the European Parliament, Pro. Fan Yuzhou had an in-depth communication on various projects and cooperation between EUCNC and the European Parliament. Both sides expressed satisfaction over the cooperation and willingness to strengthen and push mutually beneficial cooperation further. Moreover, both sides exchanged ideas on deepening international cultural and tourism projects between China and Italy with the 2018 China-EU Tourism Year quickly approaching. The 2018 China-EU Tourism Year was put forward by both Chinese and European tourism administrations. As one of the most attractive European destinations to Chinese tourists and the end of Ancient Silk Road, the 2018 China-EU Tourism Year will be unveiled in Venice January 2018.

Undoubtedly, the growing number of Chinese tourists visiting Europe will excite European countries. According to a report published by Italy-China Chamber of Commerce, China has become the world’s largest tourist market in terms of consumption and the number of outbound tourists, which is a major opportunity for the development of European tourist industry. To facilitate the 2018 China-EU Tourism Year many EU countries have lowered the threshold for the approval of certain visas and simplified the visa issuing procedure in support of the event. Italian government in particular has launched a series of events and facilitating conditions to boost China-Europe tourism.

Representatives of the European Parliament attended the meeting.
